Because it is open grained, with a multitude of air pockets, it is very light weight,  and it becomes water logged more slowly than other woods. 

This makes it an excellent addition to any fish or planted tank.  With its open grain and wider sizing than many other driftwoods, it gives your aquarium more open surface area for the beneficial bacteria of aquarium bio-filtration to attach itself.

This piece was collected on Little Bayou Pierre by the Valley of the Moon Road Bridge.  

A great piece of non-cypress to add character and depth to your aquarium.  Interesting shape and a perfect pleco lounge piece!

No anchor plate for this piece as it would destroy its beauty.  This piece will need to be weighted until water logged.
