Much of the Cypress Driftwood we offer, being actual driftwood, also an open grained wood, is very buoyant (will float). Many want to use their Cypress Driftwood right away, so we offer with each piece that needs it, an aquarium safe anchor , pre-drilled, of natural stone, along with a stainless steel screw. These anchors are the weight needed to anchor your new piece of Cypress Driftwood in your aquarium immediately. Once your selection is water logged, you can remove the natural stone and your selection of real cypress driftwood will not float.

With the rising price of S&H with all the shipping carriers, S&H prices are also our concern. Combining pieces of driftwood into one order helps customers. To also help you out with S&H costs, we can offer you just the driftwood, without the tile. Since some of our customers use the driftwood outside of aquariums (taxidermy, reptile habitat, floral arrangements, etc), all you need to do is let us know at purchasing time and we will lower the S&H costs to the corrected amount. If you are still concerned on S&H costs, just send an email for S&H quotes of particular pieces you are interested in, along with your zip code. We will send you a price total for the driftwood and anchor plates. If you do not want anchor plates, we will tell you the weight needed to anchor the piece in place.

You can also, if you have pots or cauldrons big enough, soak and boil the Cypress Driftwood to get it waterlogged sooner. The Cypress Driftwood we sell has already been properly cleaned; this is only to speed the process of waterlogging for your use in your aquarium. Here are a couple of pictures of the driftwood I have soaked or boiled for my own tanks, along with one anchored down with sandstone. Click on the pictures for a larger view. One of my swampwood caves that was boiled is a home for one of my breeding long fin calico plecos.
